About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Salem, Oregon, Padington's Pizza stands out as a beloved destination for fans of classic Italian-style pies with a Western twist. This pizza restaurant expertly crafts flavorful creations that capture the spirit of the Old West while delivering authentic, satisfying pizza experiences. Whether you're dining in or grabbing a takeout, the appeal lies not only in the quality but the generous portions and enticing combinations that keep customers coming back again and again.

The menu at Padington's Pizza features an impressive range of options that cater to diverse tastes. The Humdinger Pizza, a standout local favorite, offers a delightful medley of salami, pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, and lean beef, perfectly balanced with a mouthwatering sauce that has earned rave reviews. If you’re after something a bit sweeter and tropical, the Gold Digger Pizza combines Canadian style bacon and pineapple, offering that classic Hawaiian zest. For those who appreciate variety, the 1/2 & 1/2 pizza options allow you to savor two favorites on one perfectly thin and crisp crust. For lunch, hearty options like the Lunch Homesteader loaded with Canadian bacon and sliced fresh tomatoes or the Lunch Fortyniner featuring mushrooms, onions, green peppers, beef, and fresh tomatoes provide a fulfilling midday experience without compromising on flavor.

The culinary experience here is more than just the toppings; the crust deserves a special mention. Thin and crispy without being dry, it delivers that satisfying crunch in every bite, complementing the rich, savory toppings. It’s clear from customer feedback that the balance of toppings to crust is carefully calibrated, creating perfect bites that keep pizza lovers delighted. Whether it’s the pepperoni pie or the BBQ chicken slice, the flavors come together beautifully, making each visit a flavorful journey.

Atmosphere-wise, Padington's Pizza embraces a strong Western theme that lends a fun, rustic vibe to the setting—ideal for families and casual diners. While some guests have noted the decor could be livelier and the environment a bit more vibrant (with just a single TV usually tuned to the news), what truly shines here is the sense of community and the genuine focus on great pizza. It feels like a no-frills, honest approach where the food is the star, further emphasized by a welcoming staff eager to please. Practical touches like ample seating, clean restrooms, and plenty of parking add to the overall comfort of your visit.

For families dining out, the Kids Corral offers kid-sized, approachable options like the Pistol Pete pepperoni pizza or the simple yet delicious Old Pizza Bill plain cheese slice—perfect for younger palates. Adults can round out their meal with a refreshing pitcher of root beer or explore their decent beer selection, adding a relaxed flair to their dining experience.

While Padington's Pizza might sit at the higher end of the local price scale, many patrons feel the quality and portion sizes justify the investment. Be sure to plan ahead as the ovens often get busy—ordering in advance is a smart way to avoid long waits, especially during peak times. There’s a genuine warmth in knowing that each pizza is made with care, from the freshly prepared dough to the generous layering of toppings, crafting a final product that satisfies not only hunger but the craving for something authentically hearty and delicious.

Whether you’re a local or just passing through Salem, Padington's Pizza offers a distinctive slice of both Italian flavor and Western charm—a place where crispy crusts, bold toppings, and a family-friendly vibe come together in perfect harmony.

It's a fun Western themed pizza place. Dine in or take out. The pizzas come with generous toppings. A medium pizza can easily feed 3 or 4 adults. The crust is on the thin and crispy side but not dry.

Toppings to crust ratio is perfect. A very good bite, but the restaurant atmosphere is VERY underwhelming. I appreciate they have no games, and one TV. But the TV is always on the news. They could brighten the place up, it's like a mortuary! I'm really only there for the pizza. You're better off taking it to go. And it tastes better hot! Eat it that night.

Loved the pizza. My wife and I both enjoy a crispy crusted pie. It was perfect me. We had a pepperoni Pizza and BBQ chicken. The chicken was especially good. You'll enjoy it too. They always want a picture for the site but when I looked something.... It's not around for a picture!

Great pizza and a great atmosphere. Definately a family friendly pizza place with a decent beer selection. The "humdinger" seemed to be the local favorite so I ordered a small and was very pleased. A great sauce and the toppings were on point.

Padington’s pizza is very good, among the best in the area, unfortunately the price is also very high. It is the most expensive or almost the most expensive there is. So keep that in mind. There is ample seating, no music, the bathrooms are very nice and plenty of parking though it could be a short walk. Expect delays as the ovens are so busy they get backed up so order ahead, particularly for pick up. The crust is the thin cracker crust style if that is what you like, I enjoy it as much as the New York Style just different.

The pizza is really good: fresh and tasty ingredients, an amazing crust, best edges. The place itself is very nice. The only downside was that when we arrived, the place was full of smoke. They really need to improve or replace their exhaust system, because it makes the experience uncomfortable

Paddington’s is an old school pizza place where you order at the bar and seat yourself. The pizza is the thin style, crispy and loaded with toppings (very little flop). The restaurant is dated but that’s part of the appeal. This is the place my wife came when she was a kid and the family went out to “special” pizza. So, this is a go to whenever she needs a little nostalgia and great pizza. The menu is pizza only but there are a lot of combinations to choose from. The beer list rotates and there is usually something for anyone. Plus, they serve it in frosted glasses!
